Special Madrassa for the Blind

 

It is started in the year 2008. This Madrassa setup for the students of Ma’din Special School for the Blind. This is the only madrassa of this kind under the Samastha Kerala Sunni Vidyabyasa Board in Kerala.

Syllabus : As prescribed by the Samastha Kerala Sunni Vidyabyasa Board.

Medium : Medium of instruction is Malayalam and Medium of writing examinations is in Braille system. 

Working Days and Timings:  The Madrassa functions on all days of the week except Sundays from 7am to 9am.
Uniform
All students should wear school uniform on all working days except Wednesday.

            Boys    Large check shirt in Blue and Blue Pant, School Badge and Belt. Muslim students should wear white cap also.
            Girls    Churidar in large Blue check and Blue colour pant, Cream colour shawl and School Badge.
Muslim students should wear Black Maftha also. 

Examinations:
For the sake of valuation, the examination is conducted with the help of a scribe. Students appear for the examination with the help of an amanuensis.
The function of the amanuensis is to readout the questions to the blind students and the students will dictate the answers to the scribe.
There are quarterly, half yearly and annual examinations under S.K.S.V.B.
Public examination is conducted for the 5th, 7th and 10 standards.
 The overall performance of the students in the annual examinations is considered for promotion to the next higher class

Attendance
The pupil should be punctual in attendance.
The name of the student will be removed from the rolls if he is absent for fourteen days consecutively without applying for any leave.
In such cases re admission will be given only on satisfactory explanation by the parent / guardian and on payment of a re admission fee to be prescribed by the Head of the institution.

No leave other than Medical Leave will be granted for absenting from examinations.
In the case of those who absent on medical ground, the medical certificate produced should be from not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon.
80 percentage of attendance is compulsory in an academic year for a student to appear for the annual examination.
Shortage up to 15 percentage will be condoned on medical grounds.

Leave:
Leave will be granted only in special circumstances and that too as per the request of the parents.

Holidays and Vacations : Holidays and vacations admissible to the Special School for the Blind will also be applicable for the Madrassa also.

Extra Curricular Activities.
As there are facilities and time for extra curricular activities in the school, no particular attention is given to Arts, Sports and other activities in the madrassa.

Discipline: Each student should strictly observe the rules and regulations prescribed by the madrassa management and the parents should take special care that their wards observe the rules and regulations of the madrassa unscrupulously.
Use of Mobile phone and other electronic gadgets used mainly for fun and entertainment are strictly prohibited in the madrassa campus.
Attendance of the parents is compulsory in the PTA meetings.

Application Forms:
Application form for admission along with the prospectus can be obtained from the office free of cost.
And the form will be issued from March first onwards and the filled in applications should be received in the office on or before June 30th of every year.

Admission is restricted to the inmates of Ma’din Special School for the Blind.
